2-13-11 - Valentine's Eve

This week has been busy. I have had to cover some shifts at work and ended up going to work every day this week. Friday evening, Carl and I decided to have our Valentine's Date. Nothing to crazy. We went to "Goodwood" BBQ and had buffalo wings and shared a 4 meat sampler plate. That was tasty. Then Carl took me to Best Buy and I picked out a new Car Stereo and TomTom GPS. Our old stereo couldn't play my MP3 files (I subscribe to the Dennis Miller Show). The TomTom was something I've wanted for a while. I found out I can get the voice of Homer Simpson to direct me to where I'm going (funny).

Saturday we stayed home and cleaned house. Lisa's computer crashed so we went over to help for a while. Later we went to the evening session of Stake Conference.

Today's session of Stake Conference was good. We were reminded to write in our journals and that reminded me about my blog. So, I'm going to try and keep it updated with the mundane and funny things that go on in our home.

Sarah - She is working on exercising everyday and eating healthy. She is very happy that she currently has 5 A's and 1 B in her classes. I told her if she gets all A's we will celebrate.

Hannah - Is busy with "High School Musical" practices. She was home for two days this week with flu like symptoms. She babysat yesterday for Stake Conference and enjoyed it.

Today is sunny, warm and beautiful here in Lehi. I'm glad to live here.

Sunday evening. Sitting here and I thought I would write an update. I am finishing 2 months of working full time at the hospital. Someone was out on medical leave and my boss asked if I could step in for the short term.

Things worked out mostly well. The girls and Carl stepped up the responsibilities and I had to let some things go. I learned alot about appreciating what you have. I learned the difficulty of working full time and managing a home. I learned that my body doesn't like getting up at 3:30am to go to work. I learned that I have been blessed to be a "mostly" stay at home mom for my children.

I decided to have Hannah plan the week's meals and I would help her cook. That has actually been alot of fun. Sarah's week is coming up and I even told Carl that he gets a week of cooking meals as well.

I planned on taking beautiful family pictures at the local tulip festival but it rained both weekends. Now I am at a loss for Mother's day presents. I have to think.

That's about it for now. We are making plans to landscape the backyard this summer and we are starting to formulate some plans. Wish us luck.

Laid up for the weekend

Well, here I sit in bed for the weekend. I started a beginner's jogging class last month to get into shape but 2 weeks ago my knees decided to rebel against the plan. After a trip to the rheumatologist I was "reminded" that I shouldn't jog because it aggravates the arthritis. OOPS, my bad. Now I am paying for it. It gives me a chance to get updated on everyone's blogs. It is quite fun to see the pictures. I am also getting some time to get my Christmas cards finished. And watching old black and white movies.

December and Home Remodel

Well, It was MY idea to start remodeling 6 weeks before Christmas so I suppose I shouldn't complain that my house is a mess, I can't put up any decorations because they will be a dustball before too long, and I am going a little crazy. Here are some pics Hannah took today of the progress. We are actually starting to finish up. It should be done before January. The kids are very supportive and patient. The bad news is that I injured my knees last week and have had to stay in bed resting them most of the week. Now I have broken down and am using crutches to get around.
